What does Viirin look like?

That's me on the right side, pretending to eat my friend's arm after she got stitched back together after a pit bull almost tore off her arm. Not makeup. That's real, yo. She suggested I make it my Facebook profile picture. I did. It's also here.

Anyway, I thought the Internet had to have something now. Too many security threats have happened, and not even internet ones. So now the Net will have the secrets I've been hiding from everyone- even friends on their deathbeds weren't allowed to know this stuff without signing a notarized non-disclosure agreement before even knowing about the contents of the file I will now openly state. At this current moment, all my fans only know of works I've been off-and-on playing with for 7 years (Azure Wyrm, Eugene Comics, Copyright Infringement the Trading Card Game) and no one ever knows what I'm thinking or will do next in any of those.

This page though, contains actual details. It is the game I've been working on DAILY with NO BREAKS since I was eight years old, in 1988. But since protecting it isn't perfectly viable anymore, the least I can do is hone its online presence and the fact that it's my brainchild. It was originally known as "FunBlood" because I thought it was fun to describe the bloody combat you're in, AD&D style. But I knew it had to change its name for international marketing purposes as an MMO instead of book-style RPG.

Its new name comes from playing over 32 online games since they were first created, and being a player myself. I've heard the complaints of the gamers, and have many of my own. The new name, and its marketing gimmick, is fruition. All of your gaming desires have come to Fruition. Fruition Online.

FRUITION ONLINE

Character Stats and Templates

Having more than one character template in a single game is too complicated to code. LIES.

Having more than one character template in a single game is too confusing for players. LIES.

Fruition has three character templates, but starts off with only one unlocked.

One MMO is solo (can do everything on your own) and skill-based (no such thing as level or set abilities).

Most games are party (required to be in a group to do anything), class-based (set abilities depending on your character type), and level-based (gain experience through quests/combat in order to get stronger).

I use both models and one of my own.

Playable Races

A good game story restricts players of certain races access to certain classes. LIES.

Too many races in a single game is too confusing, or hard to code. LIES.

I have more than 20 races.

There are two races that are customizeable to a certain degree... (Sentient Plant and Mutated Animal)

I realize that "Undead" is NOT A RACE. It is a permanent (?) status abnormality. You can be an undead werewolf. "Cyborg" is the same- it's just someone with mechanical body parts and not a race.

I grant you, the players, unrestricted freedom in combinations.

Claiming

You can't have an overabundance of crafting materials in a game, which is why it has to be nodes. LIES.

In the MMO where mining was at its best (IMO), any exposed rock anywhere, even a mountainside, could be mined. However, the resources were limited each spawn session, and players could get your ore before you could, even if you farmed the spot. Annoying.

Player verus Player and Player versus Monster combat both have the same issue with each other, and mining rights. Someone else interrupts your combat and gets credit for YOUR work! Infuriating.

I have fixed all these issues with my "Claiming" ability built in to the game.

Combat

I once met a gamer who hated magic in games because it made him feel like being a non-magic using warrior was of diminished power. I accept that opinion, and worked hard to make that not true.

I've played so many games and seen so many combat rules (which I've renamed "tiers") in various locations of different games, and many of them really deserve to be included within my grand masterpiece.

Click on the image to learn more details about the following tiers:

-Open

-Restricted

-Closed

Those aren't the only tiers! One of them is made purely for asshole players.

Crafting

You can't have magical, physical, and mechanical crafting and/or enhancements in the same game. LIES.

Characters are overpowered when... NUH UH SHUT UP YOU DUMMY DUMB STUPID FACE!

Finally I get to talk about one of my favorite three aspects of gaming! Crafting is not purely smithing, nor is it only medieval, if you've been reading everything so far. Technology and magic also come into play; and you can totally make a weapon that is both mechanically enhanced and magically enchanted, without one or the other taking up the other enhancement slot.

If everyone is overpowered, no one is. However, everyone is very flashy and is JUST AWESOME. Click the image.

Pets, Animal Taming, and Genetic Engineering

Genetic engineering, animal taming, and animal husbandry can't all fit in the same game. LIAR!

Players have to be restricted in how many pets they have. HYPER BULLSHIT YOU JERK!

Genetic engineering overwrites the use of animal husbandry. NOT IF YOU'RE ME!

Some pets are tameable and have stable DNA. Some pets are NOT tameable and do NOT have stable DNA. Most pets are a combination thereof. Using my own custom programming that I already wrote (and works, I might add), every player can initially have the same pets, but after a year of play, everyone's pets are totally customized to their own personal liking.

Click to cry at the shining beauty of my hardest work, and one of my three favorite game aspects.

Personal House Map

(Takes in a deep breath in order to make a complaint, gets cut off) WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN READING SO FAR?

Want your totally customizeable house to be an instance?

Want your instance to be an interesting location from the game world you like looking at?

Want to be able to do any crafting of any kind you can think of in the privacy of your own home?

Want to restrict access to certain players only?

Want to make your house totally open to the public so you can have hirelings sell your crap for you?

Wanna let your pets run around your house, or have a stable, racetrack, or moat?

You already clicked the image and found the third of my three favorite game aspects, didn't you?

Culture Zones

(Ignoring the arguing people at this point, foaming at the mouth with rabid excitement)

Alright, this one needs some explanation. My favorite MMO had a great backstory for the existance of multiple servers. A couple book-style RPGs I played had great backstories, too. So I merged and enhanced them into my own backstory.

Each game server is totally different from any other, with its own technology, culture, races, classes- some are medieval, prehistoric, high-tech, pure fantasy, or post-apocalyptic. Upon earning the right, characters can pass

from one to the other, at will. There are penalties and benefits to this; click to see what I mean.

Magic

(The arguing people are, by now, drooling, and have an unintentional pants party and dinnerplate eyes)

Everyone wants customizeable spells. Very few games have pulled it off even half-decently. Well, I'm doing it too. With the use of various Runes, different effects can come forth. There is even a Rune that allows players to target every single character within their guild, their party, their friend list- and the pets of those players, even if they're offline.

Certain spells, like the one described above, have huge recast timers. But most of them don't, and I even wrote tutorials for spell customization and functionality. Go ahead and click and see what I mean.

Justice

Players will undoubtedly break both the End User License Agreement, and Guild and other policies.

I have a character class that is designed to oust them, and reward players in a way that no one else has yet.

Also players who are loyal and stick around a long time get certain benefits. You can also get those points in other ways, so newer players aren't necessarily left out.

Gold farming is a thing. I don't even want to try to stop it. However, I do want it under control. So certain players with certain credentials... well if you're actually interested, you can just click the gavel.

Quests

Quests are not always a necessary part of gaming, but done right, they really add to the richness and depth of the game world and storytelling in general. Done wrong, you can't help but ask "Why the hell does this guy say I've helped a great deal, but then see a thousand other players per day do the same effin' thing right after I did and still nothing changes?"

I do things the right way. There are some stock quests, but most quests are actually less formal, and are created as random events with possible interruption events along the way, sometimes guaranteeing failure.

Click to learn about the Convoy, Fetch, and other quest types that aren't as annoying as they sound.

Backstory

Learn the story behind Fruition, from its original form to its current version. Thousands of years have passed in-game since I came up with it, and almost thirty years in real life.

You truly are important. The gods know how special you are, personally.

Only you can prevent forest fires.

Heh, had to joke. But yeah, click to learn the backstory of how my life got twist-turned upside down... I mean how this world we currently live in became the world we all wish we would live to see.

Character Classes and Freeform Skills

There are a great deal of character Classes, as well as Skills. Read "Templates" to understand the differences and my reasoning for doing both.

Within this image's linked page is what I hope is an awesome swatch of character types, all meant to be complimentary to each other in at least one way, if not more.

Nothing is "better" than anything else ALL THE TIME. Of course some classes are better than others given the right circumstances, but no class is ALWAYS better than another, similar one. Okay, so ranged combat is needed for a certain fight. Caveman Rock-Thrower? Elven Archer? Human Particle-Cannoneer? Depends on a lot of variables.

Bestiary

Wanna know some of the  monsters you'll encounter? Well that will be here eventually.

Primarily I'm interested in writing about the Bladed Death Clan- a savage group of Mutated Humans who worship the works of the gods, but not the gods themselves.

Beware your power as a player, because they will attack you in great number just to steal your best gear. They rarely kill anyone though.

Geographical Areas

Sure, by reading "Culture Zones" you know about the different servers of Fruition Online.

What you don't know however, is different areas in detail, the threats, if any, and who or what lives there.

So within this page are the cities and adventure areas within Fruition Prime. We'll let you know more about other places when time permits.

Read about Lightning Mountain, the Spike Edge Mountain Range, Pentracities, Screaming Fields, Petrified Forest, Freezing Swamp, Mushroom City, the Flaming Sea, and others.

Gameplay

Holy crap, dude! There is so much to say that just has to do with playing the game to begin with.

I'll say a lot of that here, if it wasn't written elsewhere.

How to be friends with the people that run the game, how to see through your character's eyes instead of your own, why you want to help us locate and fix game errors, how to make the game better for everyone (especially yourself) and various game mechanics.
