Fruition Online- Quests

 

There are a few types of quests not because of lack of imagination or game mechanics, but because they are very customizeable or customized, and are for the most part, randomly generated upon being offered to players.

Convoy Quests

So, an MMO I played had a crafter quest system where you got little papers with a specific amount of gear of a certain quality or better, made of a certain material. You could trade or sell these papers if you wanted, or just stock them up and do them later.

 

I liked that system! The first crafter quest in the game (not available anymore, btw) is you'd do one of these papers and turn it in to an NPC in another town. Just this combined would rock, but I thought of adding in more.

 

Of course I would.

 

What's the most annoying type of quest? Escort.

 

But that's because it's done wrong. It isn't done by me.

 

So! You can get the papers and do that system. Or... let's go with "or". You are required to bring certain supplies via wagon or something to another town. You could get attacked along the way! This happened in a different MMO I played.

What is new is the combination, and the fact that the quest pays for a certain number of escort PLAYERS. There are also quests to attack these escorts. Anyway. You can hire less and each guard gets a bigger check if you succeed, or hire more than the quest pays for as long as you do it out of your own pocket or figure out something yourself.

 

In Closed-PvP settings, when two-sided quests don't have opposition by design or interest, NPC raiders will be spawned.
