Fruition Online- Geographical Areas

Welcome to a few places I've dreamed about then created, or the other way around. These are various locations through different Culture Zones of interesting enough note to say something about. I'll say more of them some other time, as ability and time permit.

Screaming Fields

Home to two types of dragonoid and others. The Screaming Fields gets its name because of how the wind sounds while it blows through the bamboo-like grasses; as if people are moaning or screaming in pain. Many unseen dangers make themselves known only to the doomed. Such includes quicksand pits, and oversized carnivorous animals.

Spike Edge Mountains

Home to the Bladed Death Clan cult and two dragonoids as well. The bladed death clan is a cult of humanoids with horns, claws, fangs, spikes, quills, thorns and anything else sharp growing from their bodies. They are overly fearful of anything other than their cult members, especially magic. They sometimes watch players walk down the Astral Pass in the middle of the mountains to be granted Oricon, and leave them alone out of fear. They worship Oricon items, and attack players if they come already bearing such; in an attempt to loot it and worship the item in their treasure halls. Besides the plain gray slate rock mountains and the dark gray faceted shiny and dead looking bushes, the Stone Octopus lurks. No one knows why this oceanic creature mutated to live in this arid and waterless land, but it is a definite threat if you’re unfortunate enough to have to chase down the Clan to get an item back and slip into this thing’s lair.

The Black Forest

The Black Forest got its name by being an entire forest made of black and gray plants; even the dirt itself is dark and gloomy. However, this descriptively intimidating area is the most peaceful that can be, even a god of war could not help but feel kindness and generosity here. Situated in the middle of the forest is the Pentracities, and the Temple of Light in the center of that.

Temple of Light

The Temple is not actually a temple- it is a steep canyon filled with quartz and chrome crystals. Legend says that before the cloud cover above the Black Forest was fully materialized, a single ray of light entered the canyon- hit a crystal prism and was broken into the colors of light; and reflected around on the chrome until it finally became a single vertical beam of rainbow, rising through the clouds, as far as the eye can see. This is no small rainbow either, it is approximately three hundred feet in length and width, as the canyon is circular, and no telling how high it goes.

Lightning Mountain

Lightning Mountain is as tall as a mountain is required to be; but it is not as you imagine one to look. The Lightning Mountain is a gargantuan column of lodestone (magnet ore) and copper; the materials combined so well that you only notice the lodestone. This geographical location gets the hydrated cool wind from the Ice Swamp to the north and the hot over-current from the Flaming Sea to the west. The cold and hot air current, combined with the unprecedented amount of static in the air due to the column, creates an eternal thunderstorm. So many lightning bolts hit the column so often that some settlers decided to make use of it. Gnomes and humans got to work at creating very bright electrical wires, welded to the column and spread throughout the city below like spider web. As filaments in a light bulb glow because the wire is thinner, it causes the wires to overheat safely and shine; the same goes for the cables above the rooftops. Day and night the cables brighten the city; it looks similar to Las Vegas from a distance- this city is also surrounded by desert. Great sentient trees grow as one around the column, making themselves into hotels to help grant the city dwellers tourism.

Flaming Sea

The Flaming Sea is not actually a ‘sea’, but simply a bay area, where the water isn’t water at all, but fire in liquid form. The Ice Lithe lives under the waves.

Ice Swamp

The Ice Swamp is a very dangerous area, with a resident dragonoid suited to the already nearly fatal landscape. Beautiful to some, but the surface ice is very thin in some places, leading to frigid water and quicksand. The façade of safe passage over the frozen swamp water is not the only danger, the Ice Swamp has a permanent hailstorm, and poisonous creatures that adapted to the temperature change from when the area was initially a simple swamp.

Stone Forest

The stone forest is dwarven territory, suprisingly. The trees of this forest are made not of wood, but metal and stone. The trees grow as do any others, but bear no fruit; instead they grow flawlessly cut and faceted gems- the shape and size of a small egg. These gems act as seeds do; even metal trees produce gem-like seeds.  The flowers of these trees are sold at magificently high prices; as they are made of high-quality, thin metal or stone and never wilt and once removed from the tree, they no longer continue to mature.  Even the types of stone that usually are not of attractiveness or value enough to be considered jewelry-quality become quite attractive and valuable in the shape of the mineral flower.

Miasma Geyser

This isn’t actually a geyser of miasma, but it is an area where miasma (first attribute: poison) seeps from the ground like a low mist. Although it stays low enough to be out of the noses of most beings, miasma’s second attribute is acid. The third and arguably the most frightening of its attributes is a curse- one that combines raw materials into a single being. The Miasma Geyser dissolves the dead in its area and reconstructs what it has found in a single body; naturally immune to the acid and poison effects of the miasma- in fact the beast is healed by it. The creature will not leave the geyser for this reason. Additional creatures that die by the miasma or get killed by the beast are added to the active body- the only way to kill a miasma beast is by destroying it without any fresh corpses around. This area is made for player-dictated mini-events. There will be several miasma-beasts to create, as long as the right sacrifices are made. (By sacrifices I mean the right species of creatures are killed or allowed to die in the miasma to construct a specific monster.)

Astral Pass

The Astral Pass is a 30x100 foot valley in the center of the Spike Edge Mountain range. This small valley is full of blackite, with star diamonds sparkling in plain sight. The diamonds cannot be stolen, however, as blackite is the hardest material in the game besides adamantium. At the far end of the valley is the Altar Cave, which is the only location

Mushroom Forest

The Mushroom Forest is an average sized forest in the southwestern corner of Prime, where the humidity is to blame and thank for the oversized fungi. Gnomes have taken it upon themselves to inhabit this land, and carve out the mushrooms into homes. One cluster of fungus has become a landmark- the Mushroom Castle. It is named so because toadstool clusters have formed what looks like an Arabian castle, with shelf moss acting as spiral staircases leading up to the battlements. The gnomes claim they have found medicinal purposes for some of the mushrooms, as well as food or housing, depending on the plant species, but the elves discourage the idea.

Pentracities

‘Pentracities’ is the name the cities in the center of the Black Forest have renamed themselves, coagulating into a single pentagram-shaped city surrounding the Temple of Light. Long ago the city was actually five separate towns, but as they grew the town borders merged. Being the peaceful land this forest is, the cities unanimously abandoned their individual names, merged all towns into one, and underwent a renaming; giving credit to their history. Every race imaginable lives here, playable or not, selling their best wares and working together with otherwise blood enemies.

Mana's Flurry

Mana’s Flurry is an area within the Wasteland (activated after it becomes open pvp and its history events are over) that causes random magical enchantments, even enough to cause an item to become intelligent, whenever an item is crafted with natural materials- such as wood. However, finding this out is not very likely, as you will be at risk of being murdered by nearly anyone in this zone; especially as a crafter since your combat skills will be below-average at best. This location is probably why the goddess of magic created this zone to begin with.

Mundane Apex

The Mundane Apex is an indistinct location visually, but covers a wide area in a magic-based Zone. All spells within this area fail to cast, enchantments are inactive, and magical items such as magic marbles or spell cards fail to work at all.
