Azure Wyrm Event Information
Details on events, almost purely for the Role Play, Azure Wyrm. All events have different rewards and themes, but one thing remains constant- participation times. Participation begins one minute before the Holiday and ends one minute after; so you have a full 24 hours and two minutes to update your character's story via the thread, or send a private message to Viirin. That way your activity is easily seen and properly counted.
Housewarming (Event ended Dec. 5, 2014)
Send me a PM with anything you want, and I'll get it to you in-game. Here are the categories:
INFORMATION: Certain combinations of unlocks give you access to a special ability you probably won't figure out on your own, or certain unlocks will enhance abilities you already have. Request "Information" and I'll tell you something. Or you can also get a Spoiler about my ideas behind the things you've been finding. Maybe just plain English on your surrounds, including what you didn't encounter yet because you still don't have eyes, ears, or a nose. Players active for 2 months at the least ONLY on this choice.
DNA: I'll shove a plant or animal, or at least enough to get a couple unlocks from it, near you where you can find it. Nothing extinct, but I will allow fantasy! Fantasy creatures do have abilities that exist in nature or recently created genetically engineered creatures. Fantasy abilities are more powerful than their natural origins, but they're there. No extinct creatures because that's a story element for a later Arc.
ABILITY: Want a chemical to help you unlock a breath weapon like fire, ice, acid, smoke, or mist- you can request that. Want to be attacked by something that teaches you concussion or sandstorm breath? That can be requested, too. Want to be resistant to certain elements instead? Requesting fiberglass insulation could do that. Want to have a certain venom gland or have a gland that injects a specific disease into your victims? Can request that.
BONUS: Can request a color pattern or specific color if you want- in ADDITION to your choice of the above three categories.
Culling the Numbers
This Event is already active and can't be shut off! Players who participate in this event can't play anymore- at least not on that character. Also, any participating slime can be permanently killed, as per story (usually by being eaten by an active slime). Story Arc 3 and further have slimes being discovered by society and are killed. As with other games, story-mode deaths cannot be recovered through resurrection-type abilities. Dead is dead.
Story Arc 1, the initial post for each slime. Slimes available to this Event might be encountered- and their abilities can be copied through combat.
But just because they're able to be copied, so can you! They're still threats.
RESIGN: An OOC (out of character) post saying the player resigns from play, or a private message sent to me saying you are resigning for some reason qualifies you here.
INACTIVE: Players who have not updated in a year or more are locked into this mode.
Halloween (Participate 0ct. 31)
If you don't have a request posted but you do post within that timeframe, then I'll just think of something on my own, but it might be more fulfilling to you to get something you personally like from the event. There's no guarantee I'll randomly choose something that interests you, though I will try.
TRICK rewards take the form of requested diseases, poisons, drugs, medicine, or chemicals of some kind. I designed this request type for someone to request pain killers so they would be more effective in combat, but a player requested the active ingredient in sleep medicine, so they could have sleep breath.
TREAT requests take the form of requested candy, which unlocks your ability to generate sugar in some way that makes sense (relatively speaking). Other abilities might be skin colors from the food dye used, or other specials. One player requested rock candy, because he wanted to grow sugar crystal armor.
Christmahanzakwanikuh (Participate Dec. 25)
Happy whatever holiday you pay attention to, if any. For the purposes of the event, choose one of the following four choices:
CHRISTMAS:
This holiday has more re-gifting (getting a gift from someone, not liking it, then wrapping it up and giving it to someone else) than is obvious, so let's do that! If there's an animal or plant you encounter in the role play, and you didn't want to see that, you can cash in this gift and I'll figure out something else. You can also use this gift to force me to change my mind on what you unlocked from a meal.
HANUKKAH:
This holiday is celebrated by getting drunk and gambling for a week. You may use this gift to choose a chemical ability of some kind, and I'll do what I can. The chemicals could be buffs, benefits, or even negative.
KWANZAA:
This holiday is about remembering the culture of your ancestors. How this translates into the role play is that you get to choose one MYTHOLOGIAL monster or animal and I'll find an ability or DNA from it and try to incorporate it into the role play. You still can't become that monster, but you can get one of its abilities, or body parts, or something.
NOTHING:
You don't celebrate any of the holidays, so you're able to see them from an objective viewpoint. If you choose this, then you can redeem its gift to make me give you a hint on some ability you already have but might not have realized.
Valentine's Day (Participate Feb. 14)
Valentine's Day is a holiday that technically is about "love" and "romance", but was actually created in order to sell cheap candy that the factory couldn't get rid of, and they adopted the name from some Saint who had no interest in romance nor allowed others to feel love. Odd, I know.
But going with the general 'holiday' vibe that's "supposed" to be broadcast, let's stick with the two basic themes:
COLOR: Anything that is primarily pink or red. Some starfish are pink, but not all of them, but the ones that are mostly pink or red count. Hummingbirds do have some red feathers, but they're mostly green or blue, so that wouldn't count. A red apple counts, but a green one doesn't. You can force things to become red, too! A black bear is a valid request if you cover it in paint or cake frosting for some reason.
FILLING: You can also request chocolate; or things that might be in a chocolate- such as toffee, cherries, pecans, or something.
Easter (Participate the 3rd Sunday in April)
Find the image of an egg somewhere online! I'll give you an unlock based on the image file. Make sure you keep it in your Photobucket account or something so you don't lose the image because of someone else's site.
EGG: If the egg is real and not dyed, then you get the DNA. If it's dyed, then you get the color. If it's dyed with tannins, you get the plant.
PRIZE: Fake eggs have all sorts of things hidden in them! Give me an image of a fake egg, like a plastic one, for example. Tell me what is hidden inside. Even better if it's a picture of you yourself with the egg, with a thingy in it.
GODDESS: "Easter" is a holiday that celebrates the goddess "Ä’ostre". Ä’ostre is the Dawn Goddess, so give me an unlock request related somehow to light.
Reroll (available upon request)
If a player is uninterested in the reward themes of any Event, then the player may request to get a reward from another Event of their choosing.
Instead of this Event's themes having to do with the gift you get falling into a category, your emotional state is the theme! Yeah there are all sorts of emotions. But this focuses on four. Tell us which is closest, and then tell us what you want your slime to unlock. We'll figure it out from there.
DISAPPOINTMENT
Delivered to you by Friendo, the guy who shows up if Cupid is too busy. No arrow of love for you, but he has a spoonful of wet mashed potatoes he halfheartedly flings at the back of your head.
ANGER or DREAD
Just when you think you're safe, the Purple-Shirted Eye Stabber appears and stabs you right in the eye with a knife. How are you supposed to get your posts in on time? How are you supposed to think of what reward you even want?
APATHY
You know what? You know what reward you want.
Just say what it is. Screw this other junk.
April Fool's Day (Participate Apr. 1)
You are allowed to lie as much as you want, but after you lie, you must say "April fool's!" so everyone knows it was just a lie made in fun, for pure entertainment, and is not to be taken seriously. Pranks are also common, but much less so in recent years. Pranks include practical jokes and shtick comedy. Once the prank is played, you must again say "April fool's".
In the spirit of pure ridiculousness and stupidity associated with the holiday, requests made during this event won't be given to you.
LIES: Make a request of DNA, chemical, or disease. It will be hinted at (at some point) that you've gotten the unlock you requested. However, when the unlock is complete, you'll find out that it wasn't what you thought it was! If you request pig, for example, I'll describe something that sounds very much like a pig, or at least part of it. Only after you've eaten it do you find out that it was actually donkey meat, or something else that still fits the description, but is totally not what you requested.
You can also use LIE requests to redirect an incoming unlock, instead making me choose something else.
Thanksgiving (Participate Nov. 25)
Holiday celebrates the European conquest of the Americas. Specifically, convincing the natives we were nice and needed help, then instantly inflict genocide on them. But Americans celebrate it with a turkey dinner!
So there are two options of event reward to choose, as follows:
PILLAGE: Select an unlock from another slime. You can get that unlock for yourself. In-game, you'll encounter either that slime or another one with the same ability; but you will be in a fight with another creature of your own kind.
SNIPE HUNT: Choose a flying creature (fish, squirrel, bat, bird, bug) and I'll try to get its DNA to you.
